A friend in Deen is a friend indeed.

We are supposed to have good friends who are righteous, those those who have taqwa of Allah, the ones who work to please Allah and remind us of the hereafter. And not the ones who influence us to become their partner in sin, those who takes satan as their companion, the ones who care only for the dunya and do such deeds which are displeasing Allah. "Close friends, on the judgement day, will be enemies of each other, except for the righteous" (Quran 43:67) Imagine, if you were friends with such people who were not righteous and who used to sin a lot and used to make you involve in it, you and your friends will become enemy to one another. You will hate each other for the fact that they were the ones who made you commit sins such as when it was the time for prayer, you used to be with them laughing hard, enjoying in backbiting, being in a cafe or a movie hall and so on. Sometimes, they take advantage of you and come to you only when they need something from you. And sometimes t

The eclipse prayer

Narrated Abu Mas'ud: The prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Verily the sun and the moon are the two signs among the signs of Allah by which He frightens His servants and they do not eclipse on account of the death of any one of the people. So when you see anything about them, observe prayer, supplicate Allah till it is cleared from you" (Sahih Bukhari,  Book of Eclipses, Hadees no.1041 ) Narrated Al-Mughira bin Shu`ba: The sun eclipsed in the lifetime of Allah's Apostle on the day when (his son) Ibrahim died. So the people said that the sun had eclipsed because of the death of Ibrahim. The Prophet  (peace be upon him)  said, The sun and the moon do not eclipse because of the death or life (i.e. birth) of someone. When you see the eclipse pray and invoke Allah. (Sahih Bukhari  Book of Eclipses, Hadees no. 1043) Narrated Abu Musa: The sun eclipsed and the Prophet got up, being afraid that it might be the Hour (i.e. Day of Judgment). He went to the Mosque and offered

What is Backbiting?

Ghebah or Backbiting is basically to talk about your Muslim fellow in such a manner that he/she would dislike it if told about it. In it, whether you talk about the physical defect, family, manners, conduct, faith or even his clothes, house, mode of transportation all of these composed Ghebah and the person is known as Mughtab or backbiter. Backbiting is the foremost sin mentioned in Holy Quran and Hadith.  In another verse of Holy Quran Allah The Almighty described the punishment of backbiting in these words: “O you, who have believed, avoid much [negative] assumption. Indeed, some assumption is a sin. And do not spy or backbite each other. Would one of you like to eat the flesh of his brother when dead?”  (Quran, 49:12) . This verse of The Holy Quran describes the condition of backbiter in the hereafter. Allah The Almighty clear that one who backbites about a person deserves the punishment he would have had if he had eaten the same person’s flesh. It is not acceptable for a Muslim to

Celebrating Birthdays and teachings in Islam

The Prophet Muhammad  (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him ) said: “Whoever does something that is not a part of this matter of ours (i.e., Islam) will have it rejected” (Sahih Muslim); and “The best of speech is the Book of Allah and the best of guidance is the guidance of Muhammad  (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) . The most evil of things are those which have been newly invented (in religion), and every innovation is a going astray.” The evidence in the Qur’aan and Sunnah indicates that celebrating birthdays is a kind of bid’ah or innovation in religion, which has no basis in the pure sharee’ah. It is not permitted to accept invitations to birthday celebrations, because this involves supporting and encouraging bid’ah.  Besides this birthday celebrations also involve imitation of the Jews and Christians in their birthday celebrations. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said warning us against following their ways and traditions: “You would follow th

Lighting of lamps and what Islam tells you...

I In order to erase the darkness, Allah created the light, whether the light may be in lightning and fire, or in the shape of moon and the sun. All of them are the creatures of Allah. Without the will of Allah fire can not give light and nor sun and moon can, as if they are not the owner any profit or loss. Therefore, it is not lawful and right for a person to worship them or consider that they (fire, sun and moon) are the owner of any profit or any loss. If anyone does believes this then he is a polytheist. (A person who the  belief in or worship of more than one god.)  When we look at our society and different confessions and beliefs, We find several reasons for lighting lamps and candles, some of which are as follows: 1) Jews lighting the lamps in the joy of Jewish success against the Romans in 160 BC. 2) Christians lighting lamps in the declaration of purity of Mariam(A.S.). 3) Lighting the lamps on Diwali in joy of Ram's victory over Ravan. 4) lighting fire as a thanks

The TRUTH of April Fool

When Christian forces conquered Spain, so much blood was shed on the Spanish land that when the victorious army horses passed through the streets, their legs were submerged in the blood of Muslims to their knees. When the occupying forces believed that now no Muslims have survived in Spain, they gave the arrested Muslim, the opportunity to return to Country with his family from where his ancestors had come. The christian forces left muslims twenty kilometers away from the occupying mountains and then they went back. When Christian forces expelled muslim rulers from their country, government spies roamed the streets looking for a Muslim to be martyred [1] . The Muslims who survived, left their area and went to other areas and put crosses in their throats and named themselves as Christians. Now there was no muslim visible in Spain, but Christians were still convinced that not all Muslims were alive by hiding something and hiding their identities. It was announced all over the countr
